Second Tower for Trump in Baja

Trump, Irongate to Build Condo-Hotel Tower in Mexico

By Kelly Sheehan, Online News Editor

APRIL 25, 2007 -- Rosartio Beach, MEXICO -- The Trump Organization, in a partnership with Irongate, a Los Angeles-based real estate development and investment company, has announced plans for Spa Tower at Trump Ocean Resort Baja, North Baja’s first luxury condo-hotel resort. The tower will be located in Rosarito Beach, Mexico, a project spokesperson tells MHN.

Located just 30 minutes from downtown San Diego, and overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Coronado Islands, the Spa Tower will feature 182 condo-hotel units. Designed by Guerin Glass Architects, based in New York, the complex’s design draws on the mid-century influences of Luis Barragan, known as the “father of Mexican modernism.” The contemporary community will incorporate a color pallet derived from the natural environment as well as quartz, glass and pebble tiles; stone and native plant motifs that will help to create a seamless indoor/outdoor living environment.

Other companies involved in the project is Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum Inc. (HOK), a global provider of design and project delivery services; S & P Destination Properties, a real estate company that specializes in the design, marketing and sale of luxury and resort properties; and Robyn Scott Interiors Ltd. and Knapp Interiors Inc., interior design firms.

The project’s spa will offer residents massages, sea salt wraps, facials, manicures and pedicures, and custom Mexican treatments. It will also feature a floating stone bridge over water ponds, a spa boutique, a relaxation room, women’s and men’s locker rooms and warm soaking pools, a meditation garden, a steam cave, and a therapeutic outdoor Jacuzzi tub with a waterfall nearby.

Prices for one-, two- and three-bedroom condo-hotel units will start in the mid-$300,000s. They will range from 532 to 2,200 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. Additional community amenities will include concierge services, lobby bar and lounge, pool house bar and café, restaurant, infinity-edge pool, lap and family pools, fitness center, tennis courts and walking trails.
