Virgin America a great new way to fly to Palm Springs, Puerto Vallarta

Psst. Don’t tell anyone but Virgin America is the best way to get to San Francisco’s two favorite gay vacation spots: Palm Springs and Puerto Vallarta.

On Thursday, December 15, the first flight touched down in Palm Springs (PSP), the sixteenth market Virgin’s expanding network. The SFO-PSP fares start from $79. That flight originates from JFK airport in New York City.

Earlier this month, Virgin began flying between SFO and Puerto Vallarta (PVR).

Since the service has just started, a lot of folks may not be aware of Virgin‘s new routes, so a lot of seats are empty, meaning more elbow room for you and me. But Virgin makes even the most packed flight a little more tolerable by providing in-seat entertainment. You can also get on to the Internet for a fee.

“We’re pleased to be growing and bringing new competition into markets like Palm Springs and the surrounding desert resort cities. When we enter markets with less competition, we see fares drop and service improve. This area is a world-class travel destination – and visitors and residents alike deserve more air travel options,” said David Cush, President and Chief Executive Officer of Virgin America. “We hope our service will be a breath of fresh air for residents and for travelers to the desert oasis.”
